Privacy Policy
HansaNet is a private network-monitoring system operated by Hansa Communications for its own staff and for the internet service providers it serves. It has no public sign-up: every account is created by an administrator. This policy covers the HansaNet dashboard at hansanet.in and our WhatsApp Business number.
What we collect
- Account details: name or username, email address, role, and optionally a WhatsApp phone number, entered by an administrator or by the account holder.
- Network telemetry: reachability, port, and optical readings from the network equipment we monitor. This describes equipment, not people.
- WhatsApp messages: if you message our WhatsApp Business number, we receive your phone number and the text you sent.
How we use it
- Your WhatsApp number is used to send you alerts about the network you are responsible for, and to recognise you when you message us. It is matched against registered accounts; a message from an unrecognised number is ignored and receives no reply.
- Message text is used only to answer the lookup you asked for, for example the status of a device or subscriber unit, and is processed in memory to produce that reply. We do not store the content of your messages.
- Alerts we send are recorded as a delivery log entry (subject, status, timestamp) so we can troubleshoot failed notifications.
We do not use any of this for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions about you, and we never sell it.
Who else sees it
Messages and alerts travel over Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform and are therefore also handled by Meta under its own terms. Apart from that, data stays on servers we control and is visible only to your own organisation’s accounts and our administrators. We do not share it with third parties, except where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
- Account details: for as long as the account exists.
- Inbound WhatsApp message content: not retained.
- Outage records and notification logs: retained for operational history.
- Aggregated performance trends: rolling 30 days.
Security
Access requires an account and password; passwords are stored hashed, sessions expire on idle, and administrators may enable two-factor authentication. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Every read and write is scoped to your own organisation.
Your choices
You can remove your WhatsApp number from your account at any time in the dashboard under Your account, which stops all WhatsApp notifications to you. To request deletion of your data, see our data deletion instructions. You may also ask us for a copy of the account data we hold about you.
Children
HansaNet is a workplace tool and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify account holders.
